Three people are in hospital and a manhunt is under way after shots were fired through a pub window during a police chase through Clapham High Street.
The Metropolitan Police said the suspected gunman was still at large and the victims had been taken to hospital.
Two people were hurt with shotgun pellets and the third person was injured by a moped, police said.
None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening and firearms officers were searching the area for the suspects.
The force said that officers had been in pursuit of a moped that failed to stop in the Clapham area of south London at around 4.55pm on Friday afternoon.
A firearm, believed to be a shotgun, was discharged from the moped near Clapham Common South Side before the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled. Police said a firearm had been recovered at the scene.
Several roads in the area have been cordoned off.
Pictures from witnesses at the scene appear to show a bullet hole in a window of the Belle Vue pub.
In a video posted on TikTok, a police officer is heard telling members of the public to move away from the area shouting: “Go that way, that way, that way, there’s a shotgun here.”
The video then shows an officer standing over what appears to be a firearm.
One witness, Henry Smith, who was in the Belle Vue with friends at the time of the shooting, said two women inside the pub were left bleeding after being hit by shrapnel.
He told MailOnline: “There was a really loud bang and broken glass. There were two people who ran past the window, having crashed their moped.
“There was a crashed moped outside and they shot a shotgun through the window. I’m not sure if they were aiming for someone. Two women got shot in the pub. They were alright but bleeding.
“One was shot on the side of the head or got hit by shotgun shrapnel.”
Robert Stu, 48, saw a pedestrian hit by a moped at a road crossing.
He said: “I heard a loud rev and saw a moped travelling down the road.
“A man was crossing the road at the crossing and the moped smashed into him straight in his leg and it looked like it broke his leg or shin.
“But the guy had to get up and limp off the road because traffic was coming.”
London Ambulance Service said it had taken two people to a major trauma centre and one to hospital.
A local barber said he was left shocked after hearing the shooting close to his shop near Clapham Common.
The man, who gave his name as Kaka, 34, and works in Chop barbers, said: “I was in the shop just before 5 and I heard a gunshot up the road.
“We were all shocked because it was so close, the police were everywhere afterwards.”
The incident took place just half a mile away from Lessar Avenue, where Abdul Ezedi, a 35-year-old Afghan asylum seeker, doused a woman and her two children with a corrosive substance in January.
Ezedi fled to the River Thames after the attack before jumping off Chelsea Bridge into the water. His body was found just under a month later.
A Met spokesman said: “An investigation has been launched following a firearms incident in south London.
“At 16.55hrs on Friday, 1 March police were in pursuit of a moped that had failed to stop in the Clapham area.”
They added: “While we await formal assessments, at this stage we don’t believe any of those injured to be in a life-threatening condition.
“A crime scene is in place and urgent enquiries to trace the moped are ongoing. There have been no arrests at this stage. Firearms officers are searching the area.”
